Membership FAQs

2024 DELIVERIES WILL BEGIN N APRIL 14th

What is the difference between the STANDARD vs. FAMILY subscription?

The standard order can feed between 2-4 people (approx. 6 types of seasonal produce.) Family size will include double (approx. 12 items) and can feed between 4-6 people. *Based on how often produce is consumed and will vary between households.

Delivery Frequency: Weekly or Bi weekly

We cannot offer monthly subscriptions as that does not allow us to properly plan the amount of time and energy that needs to go into our fields and crops. If you need to change your subscription plan anytime you would simply cancel your current one and resubscribe for the one that best suits your needs.

How do I skip a single/multiple delivery?

If you need to skip an upcoming delivery please let us know by WEDNESDAY before your next delivery via email leafylanesurbanfarms@gmail.com *Requests made after Wednesday will not be honored and charges will still apply; in order to avoid food waste we will donate your order if you are not able to receive it. We do not run deliveries on major holiday weekends.

What if I’m not home on my delivery day?

If you aren’t home and/or during hot summer months please leave a standard size cooler with ice packs somewhere visible for your driver.

Do you charge a membership fee?

Nope! Your membership is free.

WHY A SUBSCRIPTION?

Subscriptions allow for a continual stream of income for the farmers. Imagine as a farmer you were making your plan for how much to grow this season. Subscriptions allow for farmers to ensure they know how many families they will be feeding, thus how much time and energy to put into their fields and crops.

Our subscription service is the best way to keep fresh local veggies in your fridge consistently. Subscriptions also allow for peace of mind. No more frustration, no more “I’m out of veggies!” moments, no more chasing down your farmer.

What veggies should I expect to see in my order?

Produce will be hand selected by your farmer and vary by season and availability each week. A sample list of produce for each season is listed upon sign up and produce updates will be sent via newsletter along with recipe ideas.

What can I do with my packaging?

All of our packaging is compostable and/or recyclable. We will take back any Leafy Lanes paper or plastic products in order to reuse and reduce waste in our landfills.

How long will my subscription last and can I cancel anytime?

There is no obligation and your subscription can be cancelled anytime. You can permanently cancel by logging into your account and choosing "cancel subscription" under the subscriptions tab. We do not stop running deliveries between Spring, Summer, and Fall seasons. In fact, our goal is to bring the freshest all natural & local produce to your door until no longer available due to seasonality and you will be notified of any schedule changes in advance.

When should I expect my delivery?

No contact deliveries are made every Sunday (unless otherwise specified in advance) anytime between 11:00-2:30pm. A text confirmation will be sent to you upon drop off.

Can I tip my driver?

Yes! Tips/gratuity are highly encouraged. Cash can be left in an envelope on day of delivery OR Venmo your driver directly.

Do you use chemical fertilizers/pesticides or any other harmful substances?

No! All of our farming practices and our partners are all natural and/or deemed as organic growing methods.

Where are your farms located?

Our first urban farm was started in the west end area of Henrico county. Today, we farm multiple locations and have established partnerships with local growers and property owners all within the Richmond area.

Your global impact:

Building communities through reforestation program. Every week a portion of sales will be dedicated to planting one critically endangered tree through our collaboration with www.moretreestogether.com
